Questions
Common questions
How often does equipment need testing?
AS/NZS 3760 sets intervals by environment. Building and construction sites are the most frequent, every 3 months. Factories and workshops are tested more often than offices, and low-risk office equipment much less often. We'll recommend a schedule for your site.
Is test and tag a legal requirement?
The Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 requires businesses to manage the risks from equipment at work. AS/NZS 3760 isn't law in itself, but testing to it is the usual way to show you're doing that, and many sites, insurers and main contractors require it.
What gets tested?
Anything that plugs in: power tools, leads, power boards, kitchen appliances, computers and chargers. We also test RCDs (safety switches) to check they trip fast enough.
Will testing disrupt our work?
Each item is only unplugged for a short test, and we can work around your hours to keep disruption down.
